Aim of the project is to re-establish the active raised bog habitats and site hydrology in the areas that are influenced by drainage and to protect the raised bog habitats, plants and animals of European and Latvian importance.

During the Plant Conservation Day, in the artificial mire trail pupils could try a real mire researcher outfit and find out more about safe moving and stay in bog.

Besides, everybody could watch mire plants under stereomicroscope; learn about development of mires and peat, and find out about mire habitat protection. Project booklets about the all four project sites were given to pupils.
